Aidan Powers— Student

 

Aidan served as a Student Board Member for PPA during his sophomore and junior years at Quincy Junior-Senior High School (2020-2022). He was an active member of the high school band and is currently finishing his senior year. 

 

In addition to band, he was active in football, soccer, S-Club, CSF and has participated in productions at Dramaworks.

Lana Murray— Student

 

Lana was a founding student board member, representing Portola Junior-Senior High School in the 2019-2020 school year.

 

While a student in Plumas County, she was active in drama and band. She was valedictorian of her class and went on to study at UC San Diego.

Marty Walters — President/Secretary

 

Marty is a semi-professional violinist, violist, and classical mandolin player who studied at Oberlin College and Conservatory while preparing for a career in environmental science. She’s raised three kids in Plumas County and is deeply committed to making performing arts accessible to kids and adults for lifetime learning and fun. Marty has experience in corporate experience and service on non-profit boards, and she showed her dedication to transparency and good governance for Plumas Performing Arts.

 

In 2019, Marty co-founded Plumas Performing Arts with Tristan McMichael and served as both the President and the Secretary until 2022.

Emma Beatley — Student      

 

Emma Beatley. Emma graduate Quincy High School and joined our board in March of her Sophomore year. She plays piano and has been active in our community theater. She joined PPA because "I want to help create a strong performing arts community where young artists and musicians have a place to connect with others and learn and grow in skills."

Cheree Childers — Portola       

 

Cheree has been involved in the performing arts since the age of 3. Growing up in Plumas County, she participated in music, band, show choir, musicals, and dance. Her dedication to the arts continued after high school and she taught dance classes for 12+ years at local studios, schools, and non-profits. She is an enthusiastic educator who is very passionate about arts and science education. She has dedicated many years to working with educational organizations, non-profits, schools, private companies, and programs that provide youth and adults of all ages opportunities to grow and succeed.
